Acupuncture

At Queensway North Chiropractic, Dr. Rob Merrick and Dr. Emily Carr provide medical acupuncture as an adjunctive therapy to chiropractic care.  Medical acupuncture, often referred to as “dry-needling”, is an adaptation of Traditional Chinese acupuncture methods. Treatment involves the insertion of needles into specific anatomical tissues to create nervous stimulation for the purpose of modulating pain pathways at three different locations: locally in the tissue, segmentally from the spinal nerves, and centrally at the level of the brain and spinal cord. Acupuncture can be effective for treating both acute and chronic injuries. The benefits of acupuncture can include: pain relief, reduction of inflammation, muscle relaxation, breakdown of scar tissue and endorphin release.
